Minden’s Murals: A Journey Through History and Art

Minden Stays host Sara McDaniel joined forces with other local residents to see how they could put Minden on the map. The result? This huge, colorful mural that welcomes visitors to Minden’s downtown historic district. The mural embraces what Minden is most proud of—its friendly southern charm!

Minden also boasts this historic Coca-Cola mural, funded by Coca-Cola in the 1990s  – another favorite for Instagram snaps and secures a firm place in Minden’s rich history.

Not far from the town square is Miller Quarters Park which features a captivating mural that reflects the park’s ongoing efforts to enhance the visual appeal of the area. The mural, a key part of the park’s branding, was part of a collaborative project between Webster Parish Convention and Visitor’s Commission (CVS) and Louisiana Tech University’s School of Design. The mural was designed by students Ellie Puljak and Paige Thomas and is based on the  branding they designed for the park.

Another popular mural you won’t want to miss is this beautiful painting which features the Bible verse Psalm 91:4. Many visitors will stop to have their photo taken in front of the angel wings located at Geaux Fresh, which are actually depicted with fruits and vegetables. It is a beautiful painting created by the community and one that brings joy to local residents and visitors.

Finally, the third mural designed and painted by the local community is this beautiful painting featuring the quote “Love Over Everthing”. This mural, along with the other murals in Minden represents the love of the town, with the hope that visitors to Minden will feel the same joy the local community gets from them.
