Start with a 5-mile, easy-to-navigate paddle trail through Lake Bistineau, or hop on Bayou Dorcheat for a six-mile paddle from Dixie Inn to Sibley.
Lake Bistineau State Park is one of the country’s most beautiful bodies of water, covering 17,000 acres. It’s the place to go if you love the outdoors and watersports. There’s something for everyone: swimming, waterskiing, boating, hiking, and horse trails if you don’t want to get into the water! Don’t forget your binoculars, as Minden boasts a diverse bird population, and the lake is a great spot to find them.
